Fatherhood can be a doozy.  You have all these ideas on how it’s going to work out, what you’re going to do and what your plans are but it never quite works out that way.  As I sit here writing I have ribs on the barbeque, I’m trying to get homework done so we can go to the drive in, my family is tye dying shirts in the backyard and I can’t forget about those ribs.  Somewhere between 14 years of marriage, 4 kids and a career 2 Dads Music was formed.  It’s literally 2 dads, their families and a lot of craziness.  John and I (Joe if you didn’t know that) collided into a seismic friendship that must have been destined to happen.  We are like Batman and Robin, butter and toast, chow mein and orange chicken.  Ok, that last one was a little strange but you get the idea.

We accidentally got roped into performing at a friends wedding.  They were on a budget and needed a DJ.  For some crazy reason they called me and I reminded them I wasn’t a DJ.  They pleaded and begged and I said yes.  In hindsight what on earth was I thinking?  I had no idea what I was doing.  I had never even done it before.  The funny thing about all of it is that we did a great job.  Compliments poured in as well as more job offers.  People started asking us to do parties and weddings and we did our best to be awesome.  After a wedding last fall where the bride and groom thanked us several times and the father of the bride gave us a $100 tip (tips are good, remember that) we were asked to stay for the after party.  We declined because we both had to get home and tuck in the kids.  On the way home it hit us.  Here we are.  2 dads with nothing more but hopes and dreams and a drive to be the very best we can.  Just like we give 100% everyday to our families we give the same effort when we perform.  We know how important family moments are.  We know because we have them too.  We know what it’s like to walk down the aisle of the church and the aisle of the grocery store.  We are dads who bring a unique experience and perspective to what we do and that’s what makes us so darn good at it.  While we aren’t exactly Batman and Robin we are a dynamic duo.  If you need references just ask our kids.  They are our biggest fans.
